What is a Virus?
- A virus is a program that gets loaded onto your computer without you knowing about it. It may cause your computer to stop working properly and sometimes even cause data loss. - Adware is usually loaded onto your computer when you download or install a free program. Many free programs are provided free because they rely on the built-in advertising to generate sales. Adware can cause many annoying pop-ups and ads.

Spyware? - Spyware is software that can display advertisements
(such as pop-up ads), collect information about you including keystrokes, or change settings on your computer, usually without obtaining your consent. The most common symptom of spyware is that your computer will start to run very slowly and have trouble connecting to the Internet. At times these programs may invade your privacy and attempt to share your personal information by transmitting it across the Internet. It is often picked up just by visiting a website.
What is a
Trojan? - A “Trojan Horse” is just like its name infers – it appears to be useful or harmless but contains hidden code designed to exploit or damage your computer. They are often delivered through e-mail messages that misrepresent the program’s purpose and function.
